APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA FOR THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR. 

VETA Kipawa ICT Centre invite applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission into Diploma and Certificate programmes offered VETA Kipawa.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

VETA – Kipawa Information and Communication Technology Centre is a Vocational training Centre for ICT under Vocational Educational and Training Authority (VETA). It is one among Vocational centers owned by VETA.

VETA Kipawa is a vocational center established in 2011 under the soft loan from Korea to conduct short, long course, research, innovations and consultancy in vocational and technical training to meet one among the objectives of the VCP 5 in the vision 2025.

The Centre is tasked to promote skills and imparts appropriate ICT based technical knowledge to our citizen. VETA Kipawa ICT Centre is set to spearhead the technical training, development and use of ICT to address the national poverty reduction and empowerment strategy. However all these developments need adequate and well-trained human resource, It is in this spirit that VETA Kipawa ICT Centre sees the need to establish a world-class technical education Certificate and Diploma in ICT related courses that are accredited by a reputable accreditation body to contribute to the national capacity building. 

VETA Kipawa ICT Centre by using guidelines provided by NACTE has prepared a programme leading to the award of Basic -Technician Certificate (NTA level 4) and Ordinary Diploma (NTA level 5 & 6) in Information and communication Technology - ICT.

VETA – Kipawa ICT Centre is highly qualified and has well-drilled staff give it the much-needed competitive edge in the market. The customer has always remained the central focus in all VETA – Kipawa ICT Centre operations - satisfaction guaranteed. To ensure that Tanzania is not left behind in the global trend and to bridge the digital divide, Centre is committed to providing cost-effective solutions for the Tanzanian business community, governmental institutions, non-governmental organizations’, and the general public. 

To meet objectives, the center has to prepare the center admission guideline hand book for NTA in order to admit qualified trainees at all levels. These guidelines has to meet the NACTE requirements.

2.0 SCOPE OF THE GUIDELINES

This guideline covers Introduction, Programmes available and that are expected to be conducted at the center, Purpose of the programmes, Vacancy for each programmes, Entry qualifications for each programme and Application mode with time for application.

3.0 PROGRAMMES OFFERED

Currently, VETA Kipawa ICT Centre offers NTA programmes from level 4 up to level 6.

NTA programmes offered are:-

  • Basic Technician Certificate in Computing, Information and Communication Technology.
  • Technician Certificate in Computing, Information and Communication Technology.
  • Ordinary Diploma in Computing, Information and Communication Technology.
  • Basic Technician Certificate in Multimedia and Film Technology.
  • Technician Certificate in Multimedia and Film Technology.
  • Ordinary Diploma in Multimedia and Film Technology.

4.0 PURPOSES OF THE PROGRAMME OFFERED

The major purpose is to prepare highly level skilled Technician who will add value to Industries inside and outside our country by innovating and solving industrial problems related with ICT by compete in the Global labor market, employ themselves and advance their carriers to higher levels.

5.0 ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

5.1 GENERAL MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

  • Direct Entry Qualifications

Must hold at least four passes at Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (O-Level).

  • Equivalent Entry qualifications.

Possession of  the National Vocational Award (NVA) Level II  or  Trade Test Grade II.

 5.2 GENERAL MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

  • Direct Entry Qualifications

Possession of  at least one principal pass and one subsiduary pass at A-level  subjects. 

  • Equivalent Entry qualifications.

 Possession of Basic Technicain Certificate (NTA 4).

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) AND Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) in Information Communication Technology OR Holder of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass and one subsidiary pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language.

Ordinary Diploma in Computing and Information Communication Technology (NTA 6)

Holder of certificate of secondary education examination (CSEE) with four passes 'D" in non-religious subjects AND Holder of Technician Certificate (NTA 5) in ICT or elated fields or its equivalence established by NACTE.

Basic Technician Certificate in Multimedia and Film Technology (NTA 4)

Holder of a Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum of “D” Grade in Mathematics, Physics, English, Chemistry or NVA (National Vocational Award) Level 2 offered by VETA or equivalent qualifications from any other recognised institutions.

7.0 PAYMENTS MODE

  • All payments are to be paid through the Bank by using CONTROL NUMBER which will be provided at the Centre.
  • All payments related to Tuition fees will paid in maximum of four installments i.e. in the beginning of each semester and before the mid semester.
  • Application Fee is a Non-refundable TZS 30,000/=.

 8.0 APPLICATION MODE

  3. Before you start online application, make sure you have an active email address and working mobile phone number.
  4. Before proceeding with application, please read carefully the programme entry requirements as listed in the table above.
  5. Applications with Foreign Certificates (Equivalent Qualifications) must be accompanied by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) Equivalence translations.
  6. Please, make payment of an application Fee, a Non-refundable TZS 30,000/=.
  7. Deadline for applications is on 5 the February for March intake and 5th August for September intake. Only Successful applicants will be notified through their system accounts.
